Break in Up North

Livonia Police just stopped by to inform me of a break-in Up North. Two Individuals, age 16 and 17, assaulted guards and broke out of Eagle Village on July 26th. They first broke into Brian and Natalie's Trailer. Then broke out the kitchen window in the hut. So far the only thing that was taken was Cory's motorcycle. It was recovered. The two men had tried to leave the property using the swing gate and had startled Steven Taylor's dogs. (231) 832-2195. Mr. Taylor had come out to see what the commotion was, saw the 2 suspects and yelled to them to get off his property. When they took off running he noticed the left something, so he went over to investigate, and saw they had dropped a motorcycle. A Mr. Scott Tanas (734) 771-9662 had recently purchased 2.5 acres on 140th. He is from the Taylor area and has boarded up the kitchen window for us.Arresting officer: Trooper Glentz (231)832-2222 Reed City Post, Michigan State Police

An Easter Prayer.....

Dear Father God

We ask that You grant us wisdom this day
that we may have meaning and purpose
in our lives, and even in our death.

Grant us joy this day
that we may live full lives
and enjoy the blessings You have given us.

Grant us strength this day
that we may perform the duties
that our nation expects and our conscience demands.

Grant us memories of this day.
The memories of a loving family,
smiling faces, and the memory
that this day was a day of happiness.

We ask these things through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

In His name we pray

AMEN

You say: "Nobody really loves me"

God says: I love you (John 3:16 & John 13:34)

You say: "I can’t go on"

God says: My grace is sufficient (II Corinthians 12:9 & Psalm (1:15)

You say: "I can’t figure things out"

God says: I will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6)

You say: "I can’t do it"

God says: You can do all things (Philippians 4:13)

You say: "I’m not able"

God says: I am able (II Corinthians 9:8)

You say: "It’s not worth it"

God says: It will be worth it (Roman 8:28)

You say: "I can’t forgive myself"

God says: I FORGIVE YOU (I John 1:9 & Romans 8:1)

You say: "I can’t manage"

God says: I will supply all your needs (Philippians 4:19)

You say: "I’m afraid"

Just for today...

Just for today...
Do the things you like best.
Ignore the routine.
Put your troubles to rest.
Just for today...
Make a wish.
Make a plan.
Close your eyes.
Dream a dream.
Believe that you can.
Just for today...
Laugh out loud.
Sing a song.
Be assertive.
Be silly.
Be happy.
Be strong.
Just for today...
Do it all once, and then if you like it...
Tomorrow...
Do it all again!!!!!

How You Can Help...............ALS

http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/folding/
Our goal: to understand protein folding, protein aggregation, and related diseases

What are proteins and why do they "fold"? Proteins are biology's workhorses -- its "nanomachines." Before proteins can carry out their biochemical function, they remarkably assemble themselves, or "fold." The process of protein folding, while critical and fundamental to virtually all of biology, remains a mystery. Moreover, perhaps not surprisingly, when proteins do not fold correctly (i.e. "misfold"), there can be serious effects, including many well known diseases, such as Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, and Parkinson's disease.

What does Folding@Home do? Folding@Home is a distributed computing project which studies protein folding, misfolding, aggregation, and related diseases. We use novel computational methods and large scale distributed computing, to simulate timescales thousands to millions of times longer than previously achieved. This has allowed us to simulate folding for the first time, and to now direct our approach to examine folding related disease.

How can you help? You can help our project by downloading and running our client software. Our algorithms are designed such that for every computer that joins the project, we get a commensurate increase in simulation speed.

Sharon............

On December 16th, my mother was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, ALS for short. It is also more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. No one ever knows for sure how long they have had this disease because it is only diagnosed through exclusion. Doctors only determine this after ruling out all other diseases or symptoms. This disease is fatal. Death usually occurs within 18 months to 5 years after the patient has been diagnosed. There is no known cure, there exists a few medications that have been shown to prolong life around 3 months. This is what I think... Everything happens for a reason- all I did was cry in the beginning when I first found out about her, I still cry but I am trying to see things differently now- my mother is a wonderful person and I really cannot understand why something like this would happen to her. It is just not fair- this is evil! She has always been there for me I know the battle we have to fight is not going to be easy. I am scared. I am so scared. It is such a horrible disease and all we can do is watch her suffer and make her more comfortable.

There are some great websites with a lot of information on ALS and how it is diagnosed. They are as follows:

lougehrigsdisease.net
